(1) Purposes of establishment

  • * To provide facilities for sports, accommodations, and meetings for persons with disabilities with the aim of promoting the health and social participation of this segment of the population.
  • * To promote the welfare of persons with disabilities by offering useful information and workshops.

        Three-story reinforced concrete construction (Two stories above ground and one floor below ground)
        Building area: 1,392.66m2

- Activities

  • a) Provision of facilities for sports, accommodations, and meetings
  • b) Provision of information / counseling for the welfare of persons with disabilities
  • c) Instruction on sports / recreational activities for persons with disabilities
  • d) Implementation of sporting events / recreational activities
  • e) Implementation of training / workshops for the welfare of persons with disabilities
  • f) Fostering of sports clubs for persons with disabilities
  • g) Research into and development of sports for persons with disabilities

- Eligible users

  • a) People in possession of a certificate of physical, intellectual, or mental disability
  • b) People with disabilities at the level of disability certificate holders
  • c) Personal assistants for persons with disabilities
  • d) Groups dedicated to the promotion of welfare for persons with disabilities
  • e) People judged by the Governor to be qualified to use the Centers

- Available times

  • a) Gymnasium, Ping-Pong Room, and Training Room: 9:00AM - 8:30PM
  • b) Meeting Room, Printing Room, Library, and Recording Room: 9:00AM - 9:00PM
  • c) Swimming pool: 10:00AM - 8:30PM
  • d) Playground, Archery Range, Tennis Courts, and Sports Ground:
  • i) Spring & summer (April-August): 9:00AM - 6:30PM
  • ii) Fall & winter (September-March): 9:00AM - 5:00PM

<Note> Sports facilities are unavailable between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, except by reservation.

- Days the Centers are closed

  • a) Wednesdays (If the Wednesday falls on a National Holiday, however, the Centers will remain open on that Wednesday and will be closed the next day, Thursday.)
  • b) The day after a National Holiday (If the day after a National Holiday is either Saturday or Sunday, the Centers will be open.)
  • c) New Year's Holiday Season (December 29 - January 3)

<Note> The specific days that the Centers will be closed are fixed at the beginning of each fiscal year in accordance with the general guidelines listed above.

- Usage fee

  • a) Accommodations (Check-in: 3:00PM; check-out: 10:00AM)
    • - For individual with disability and his/her personal assistant (only one personal assistant is allowed): 1,500 yen per person per night
    • - Except above case: 2,000 yen per person per night
  • b) With the exception of accommodations, use of the Centers is free of charge.

- Entry procedure

  • a) Personal use
    To use the Centers on an individual basis, apply for a user's certificate at the time of your first visit to the Center and present it at the reception desk on each visit thereafter.
  • b) Reservations and Group use
    Reservations for Center use can be made up to 3 months in advance, with the exception of events organized by Tokyo Metropolitan Government or the Center.
  • c) Use of accommodations
    Reservations can be made up to 3 months in advance by phone or in person.

- Shuttle bus with wheelchair lift

  • a) A shuttle bus with wheelchair lift is operated free of charge.
  • b) To the Tokyo Metropolitan Sports Center for the Disabled (From Ikebukuro Station and Oji Station)
  • c) To the Tokyo Metropolitan Tama Sports Center for the Disabled (From JR Chuo Line Kunitachi Station and JR Nanbu Line Yaho Station)
