Problem 1

The lack of facilities/opportunities where persons with hearing impairment can study computer or DTP (desktop publishing)

Solution and outcome

An instructor who can use sign language was hired to train employees with hearing impairment. Employees with hearing impairment now works as internal instructors and teach other employees. They provide training on Opus, Excel, Word and Access to the sales team, and Editing, PowerPoint and POP to the production team. When it is difficult to explain by sign language, illustrations are also used.

Positive outcomes as a result of employing persons with hearing impairment

-Exclusive product planning

As a result of taking disabilities as an advantage and using them as a resource of ideas for product planning, the company was able to produce original products as well as establishing a strong position in the market.

-Stronger sense of solidarity in a company

A cooperative relationship was established by respecting each other's situation, and continuing to have discussions and improvements in the workplace. A strong sense of solidarity has generated among employees.

-Better social status

Frequent exposure to the media has given WORLD PIONEER the image of a company with substantial social contributions, and enhanced their credibility in society.
