  1. The People's Republic of China, located in East Asia, west of the Pacific Ocean, with 9.60 million square kilometers in area, is one of the largest countries in the world.

Among them, there are 561.57 million people in urban areas, which accounts for 43 percent of the total population and 744.71 million in rural areas, accounting for 57 percent.
